Born in Salzburg on 27 January 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart showed musical talent at a very young age. He is said to have composed his first pieces at age 5. Just a year later he played
in front of the Austrian empress. His father, Leopold, wanted the best for his son and thought it would be a good idea to showcase
his son's talent. In 1763 the Wolfgang family start traveling around Europe. Mozart played in front of several courts during this time, including for French and English royal families.

In 1769 the family remained in Salzburg. A few years later (1770/73) Mozart went to Italy and wrote 2 operas for performance in Milan. During this time he familiarized himself with Italian opera and music. After 1780 Mozart went to Vienna after being summoned by the Salzburg court, which at the time held residence in Vienna waiting for a new emperor to accede. After having success in Munich the years
before he was now put in a position in which he was placed somewhere in between valets and cooks. During this time he was
not happy, and this worsened after the Prince-Archbishop refused to let Mozart play at events the emperor was at. In May 1781 he either
was fired or resigned by himself. He then spent time in Vienna teaching, playing at patrons' houses, in public or publishing music.

In 1787 he was accepted to a minor court post, as Kammermusicus. It provided him with a decent salary and basically included not much more than writing dance music for court balls. His income was pretty good for a musician. He had servants and a carriage. He did suffer
from financial problems due to poor management of his finances. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died in December 1791.
